Frequently Asked Questions

How fast can I get a review?

1 to 2 business days. Send your details and we'll review them and get back to you within that window.

Are you a licensed adjuster?

Yes. 6 Sigma Consulting holds an active Arizona insurance adjuster license.

Are you affiliated with any insurance company or law firm?

No. 6 Sigma Consulting isn't tied to any insurance carrier, contractor, or law firm. We're paid for the review, not for which way the number moves.

Will this cost me anything?

The first claim review is free. If you want a full estimate, report, or ongoing adjustment support after that, we'll tell you the cost before you owe anything.

Can you negotiate or fight my claim for me?

Our job is the number, not the negotiation. We give you a real, defensible estimate. Most people use that number to negotiate with their carrier or contractor directly. If you need someone to formally represent you in a dispute, we can point you in the right direction.

What claim types do you handle?

Property is our main line, including fire, water, wind, hail, and flood damage. We also handle contents, mold, asbestos, biohazard, auto, cargo, inland marine, bodily injury, liability, casualty, theft, vandalism, business interruption, and appraisals.

Do you use Xactimate?

We're certified Xactimate estimators, and we use it often since it's the same platform most carriers and contractors already work in. That said, we don't use it for every claim; it depends on what the situation actually calls for.

I'm a contractor. What if the carrier estimate doesn't match my scope of work?

That's exactly the gap we close. We'll build or verify an estimate that reflects the real cost of the work, so you have the proper supporting information to bring back to the carrier: line-item pricing, code-required work, and material and labor detail.

I'm a carrier. Why use an independent adjuster instead of an in-house one?

An independent, multi-line estimate gives you a second, unbiased read, useful anywhere a claim is disputed, high-exposure, or headed to appraisal. It protects you from both overpaying and underpaying.

I'm a business owner. Do I have the right coverages?

We're well equipped to analyze your business coverage needs, and make recommendations as part of our services.

What is an appraisal, and do you handle that too?

An appraisal is the process a policy allows for when the policyholder and carrier can't agree on the amount of loss: each side names an appraiser to work out the number. Yes, we have experience being appointed as an appraiser on behalf of carriers and contractors.

Do you handle claim supplements?

Yes. We're experienced at preparing supplemental estimates, with the documentation needed to support them.
